“Who did Patrick’s Homework?” Question Answer CBSE Class 6

Answer the following questions. (Refer to that part of the text whose number is given against the question. This applies to the comprehension questions throughout the book.) 

Question 1. What did Patrick think his cat was playing with? What was it really? 

Ans: Patrick thought that his cat was playing with a doll. He grabbed the doll from his cat. The outcome surprised him.

Actually, Patrick’s cat was not playing with a doll but a man of tiny size. It was an elf that became the victim of Patrick’s cat.

Question  2. Why did the little man grant Patrick a wish? 

Ans: The little man granted Patrick a wish because it wanted to be freed from the clutches of cat. In fear, the elf persuaded Patrick to help him. There being no other option available, the man had to grant its saviour a wish.

Question 3. What was Patrick’s wish? 

Ans: Patrick’s wish was that the elf needed to do all his homework till the end of the semester which was only 35 days.

Question 4. In what subjects did the little man need help, to do Patrick’s homework? 

Ans: In subjects like Mathematics and History, the elf required Patrick’s help. The elf was clueless about human history. Regarding Maths, the elves never required any calculations to do in their world. Maths became a nightmare for Patrick due to the elf.

Question 5. How did Patrick help him? 

Ans: Patrick helped the elf by working even harder than previously he used to do. The elf was a nag and it irritated Patrick in every way.

 Question 6. Who do you think did Patrick’s homework — the little man, or Patrick himself? Give reasons for your answer. 

Ans: Patrick did his own homework because the elf forced him to do so. The elf had no knowledge of the human world. Therefore, it required Patrick’s help in every way. All this made him do his homework on his own. The change in Patrick made him a model boy and left everyone in surprise from parents, teachers and his peers.
